CGL Sockets & Socket Accessories All CGL chrome sockets have the "Kinetic Drive" feature, which allows the application of at least 15% more torque to the fastener. This is bought about by the special fastener drive design, which relocates the drive away from the point of the fastener. This helps to reduce the chance of "rounding off" fasteners and will actually assist in removing previously damaged fasteners. The CGLrange of chrome sockets are manufactured to meet & / or exceed all relevant international DIN standards.

All CGL chrome sockets are manufactured from chrome vanadium alloy steel and go through a detailed polishing process to enhance the polished appearance. This polished finish, whilst enhancing the pride of ownership also allows for easy cleaning which in turn limits the potential for user injury. The spark plug sockets also offer the "Kinetic Drive" feature and are magnetic. This reduces the chances of a spark plug being dropped & damaged when removing or replacing it in a difficult position. As well as the square drive the spark plug sockets feature a hex drive which assists in very tight applications which seem more common in today’s engine bays. All ¼", 3/8" & ½" drive chrome extensions are of a 2 stage (wobble & lock) design with knurling and hex drive features. This wobble & lock design allows for rotation of the fastener, even when direct square-on access isn’t available. By pushing the extension onto the socket fully (2nd stage) it will lock the extension & socket together. The knurling allows for positive finger rotation of the extension & socket without slipping. If necessary a spanner or socket can be applied to the hex end of the extension, giving yet another drive option. The ¼", 3/8" & ½" drive ratchets all have a locking & release button on the drive head. This ensures that once fitted, the socket or extension remains in place until "you" release it. These ratchets are a 45 tooth (8 degree) single pawl design with three engaging teeth. This allows for the transfer of the torque directly along the tools centre line.
